From what I can tell the Bug's spasms are atypical. Where most babies will have many jerks and startles in one episode and just a couple episodes a day the Bug has one jerk or startle in an episode, but many spread out through the day. His EEG does display the hypsarrhythmia that is linked to Infantile Spasms, but the cause of his condition is unknown.
